Okta and Salesforce Team Up to Inspire Trust Amidst Pandemic

The COVID-19 pandemic has been pretty harsh on businesses across the globe and technology is the major savior during these unprecedented times. Technology equips workforces to connect virtually with their customers so that there are no hindrances in the experiential marketing strategies and the customers are provided with seamless experiences. Vis-a-vis embracing digital transformation, it is also important for companies to be authentic and inspire trust for maintaining a loyal customer base. The partnership between Salesforce and Okta enables organizations to build and leverage essential trust quotient amongst their customers and be more resilient as a consequence, even in the face of weathering the pandemic storm. The Okta Identify Cloud has been integrated by Okta and Salesforce with Work.com (which is a platform to harness expert advice, content, and technology, and is focused on restoring the normal functioning for the businesses).

The partnership will enable organizations and communities to build trust with both employees and customers. Deploying work.com will not only boost the organizations’ confidence to reopen safely but will also save considerable time for them. Thus, the collaboration will inspire trust and build a secure cloud environment for marketers irrespective of their geographical location.

Work.com from Salesforce was introduced in May 2020, to leverage technology solutions and resources, required to help the businesses re-open safely. The platform can also be used to reskill employees as to how to best behave during the pandemic crisis.

Employee wellness assessment, shift management, emergency response management, contact tracing, and grants and volunteer management are just some of the facets authenticating the versatility of Work.com as a platform. The partnership will facilitate seamless integration of multiple systems and will make it easier for the Salesforce subscribers to manage multiple platforms at the same time. The Salesforce subscribers can leverage Active Directory and can sign-in to Work.com with a single click. The users can be automatically created in Work.com by IT administrators as they can easily synchronize data from human resource systems such as Workday.

This process is highly efficient and secure.

The tighter controls help in safeguarding sensitive data. Alongside allowing the easy provision and de-provision of users, the partnership establishes stringent controls for permissions and enforces multi-factor authentication for specific users or groups with potential access to sensitive data in Work.com.

Sarah Franklin, executive vice president and general manager for Platform, Trailhead, and AppExchange at Salesforce, seemed optimistic about the partnership as she said, “Together, we’ll increase IT productivity and provide employees with a seamless experience.”

Sarah also accentuated that as a technology company it’s Salesforce’s responsibility to minimize the friction for companies so that they can treat their employees like assets even during the pandemic and thus, can help them embrace the new way to work during the new normal.

The pandemic has adversely affected the business fraternity across the globe including Salesforce. The company laid off 1,000 employees in August, a phenomenon which they officially quoted as, “reallocating resources to position the company for continued growth,” including “continuing to hire and redirecting some employees to fuel our strategic areas, and eliminating some positions that no longer map to our business priorities.”
